The Fazenda da Grama was built in the 19th century by Comendador Breves, a figure of the time known as the “coffee king.” Fully decorated in colonial style, the estate hosted parties for hundreds of guests, and speaking French was quite common.
By the 1940s, Fazenda da Grama had become a meeting point for high society, thanks to its casino. It also welcomed the political elite of Rio de Janeiro, then the Federal Capital.
At its peak, Fazenda da Grama boasted orchards, gardens, stylish furniture, statues, tiles, and porcelain. Today, the ruins of its manor house stand as a memory filled with echoes of the past. Explore the trails that pass through this attraction
