Between the 1940s and 1970s, Abaetetuba was a major producer of aguardente. The Eco Sítio Paramajó was home to one of the largest distilleries in the city, the Engenho Feliz. After the distillery went bankrupt, its equipment was sold, but its structures can still be found. Nearby, there was a pottery workshop, of which remnants of the kiln remain.
