Fazenda de Ostras Marinha de Nova Olinda Located in Vila de Nova Olinda, in the municipality of Augusto Corrêa, this Amazon marine oyster farm on the Emboraí Velho River, in the Reserva Extrativista Marinha de Araí Peróba protected area, accounts for the largest oyster production in the state of Pará and ranks among the five largest producers in Brazil. Visits to the oyster farm can be scheduled with members of the AGROMAR Association, always in accordance with the tide tables. The visit offers insight into the types of farming, reproduction, and production of this mollusk. It also offers direct contact with the mangrove ecosystem and a chance to taste oysters both raw and grilled over charcoal in the welcome area known as the rancho.
