Description
The Translagunar in Arraial do Cabo stands out for the Acaíra section, whose name has a Tupi-Guarani origin and means “isolated point” or “remote point,” referring to its scenic and symbolic character of natural isolation between the restinga (coastal scrub) and the lagoon. This section is yet another part of the unique hypersaline lagoon ecosystem of the Araruama lagoon, characterized by rich biodiversity, historical relevance, and the livelihoods of fishing communities.
GuidelinesTips
Because of the high sun exposure, visitors are advised to bring water and snacks, wear light clothing, and apply sunscreen and insect repellent along the route.
