Description

The trail from Provetá to Aventureiro Beach, the T10 of the long-distance trail around Ilha Grande, is famous for being one of the most physically demanding sections of the entire Ilha Grande. Despite its short distance, it crosses a steep mountain that separates the civilization of Provetá from the paradisiacal isolation of Vila do Aventureiro, a caiçara community worth visiting!

Tips

Aventureiro Beach is located in a Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS) and has a limit on the number of people who can stay overnight in the village. There is a small office of Inea RJ, with active management, that controls the visitation capacity. If the capacity is full, you can spend the day but cannot stay overnight at Aventureiro. Note: There is no electricity in the Aventureiro Village. Local energy is provided by generators and solar panels. Note: Passage through the South and East Beaches is prohibited as they are an Integral Protection Biological Reserve. To continue from Aventureiro to Parnaioca for the continuation of the Volta da Ilha Grande, it is necessary to cross by boat. In the Aventureiro Village, this transportation is offered by the residents.

Route

The trail has a rapid altitude gain and the descent is very technical. The soil easily turns to mud, with many roots and erosions creating ditches caused by rain that require attention on rainy days. The trail begins just after the end of Praia de Provetá with a continuous and steep ascent through the forest. There are not many plans here: just climb until you reach the summit of the hill. At the highest point of the trail, there is a small detour that leads to a natural viewpoint. From there, you get the first panoramic view of Praia do Aventureiro and the Biological Reserve of Praia do Sul. It is the visual reward for your effort. If climbing tires your heart, descending takes a toll on your knees. The descent to Aventureiro is very steep. On humid days, the ground becomes extremely slippery. On dry days, it’s just a matter of going down. The trail ends roughly in the middle of Praia do Aventureiro, amidst the homes of the caiçara community, which welcomes hikers and visitors for a simple and very cozy overnight stay. In the right corner of the beach, you will find the famous Coqueiro Deitado, the unforgettable postcard of Vila do Aventureiro. Once in Aventureiro, be sure to visit: - Mirante do Espia: A short 15-minute climb from the beach with an incredible view of the open sea. - Mirante do Sundara: An uphill trail, about 30 minutes long, with a length of 600 m, offering a total view of the South and East Beaches, which are in a Biological Reserve and are not open to visitors. - Praia do Demo: A small beach, great for those who like to surf and also for those who prefer a more deserted beach. On the left side of Aventureiro, you need to cross a small trail, about 10 minutes long.
