Description

The Carimã Trail is one of the most traditional and rustic ecological paths in the Foz do Iguaçu region, offering a refuge of tranquility and a deep connection with the Atlantic Forest ecosystem. The Carimã Trail is named after the Carimã River and the stretch of preserved native vegetation in its surroundings. It is a route focused on the contemplation of nature in its most preserved and wild state. Unlike the structured circuits on wooden walkways, the Carimã preserves the feeling of a true expedition through the forest, making it ideal for trekking enthusiasts, ecological hikers, and wildlife observers looking to distance themselves from the busier tourist routes.

Tips

As this is a more rustic trail with less commercial support infrastructure, it is essential to be well prepared before starting the route. It is recommended to wear long pants and closed, non-slip footwear (such as trail running shoes or hiking boots) for protection against branches and insects. Bring a water bottle with enough water for the entire route, as there are no potable water points in the area, along with some light snacks. The use of strong insect repellent and sunscreen is crucial. Finally, remember to collect all generated trash, do not remove plant species from the site, and preferably travel in a group or with guidance from local guides.
