Description

The Pico do Urubu trail is a route that leads to a natural viewpoint with a wide view of the Serra do Mar. The summit offers a 360º view of the mountain range of Serra dos Órgãos, highlighting iconic formations such as Dedo de Deus, Dedo de Nossa Senhora, Garrafão, and Escalavrado. It also provides a privileged view of Guanabara Bay, allowing you to see the city of Rio de Janeiro and some of its natural monuments, such as Pão de Açúcar and Corcovado. The path crosses areas of Atlantic Forest, with shaded sections and others more open near the top. The trail is considered to have moderate difficulty, requiring good physical conditioning mainly due to the continuous ascent. The effort is rewarded by the view at the summit, which stands out for its expansiveness.
