Mirador de los Condores y Mirador de las Águilas

Description
The trail connecting the Mirador de los Cóndores and the Mirador de las Águilas is one of the most popular, accessible, and scenic trails in El Chaltén, in Argentine Patagonia. It is located in Los Glaciares National Park. The Mirador de los Cóndores offers a spectacular panoramic view of the town of El Chaltén and the imposing massif of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre in the background. The site is named because the thermal air currents often attract Andean condors, which can be seen soaring very close to visitors. The Mirador de las Águilas provides a view that opens up to the vastness of Lake Viedma, Tunnel Bay, and the expanse of the Patagonian steppe. As it is quite windy in this section, the hike gives a real sense of the wild climate of Patagonia.
GuidelinesTips
Structure: The trail is very well marked and well-trodden. There are no restrooms or water points along the way, so please use the restrooms at the Visitor Center before heading up. Being an open area, the wind can be extremely strong, especially at the Mirador de las Águilas.
