Franconia Ridge Loop
Description

This extremely popular hike in the White Mountains of New Hampshire is one of the best day hikes in the area for a variety of reasons. Beginning near the Lafayette Campground in Franconia Notch State Park, this great hike offers some of the best views in New England! As a bonus, you will ascend three peaks including the highest mountain outside the Presidential Range - Mount Lafayette. Next, you’ll come to Mount Lincoln. After crossing this peak, you’ll walk along a narrow ridge to the final summit of the trip - Mt Lafayette. After reaching the summit of Mt Lafayette, feel free to spend some time enjoying the incredible views. On a clear day, you’ll have views of Mount Washington and the rest of the Presidential Range. After all that climbing, you’ve earned your steady descent down the Greenleaf Trail that leads to the Greenleaf Hut (the hut closes during the wintertime) and Eagle Lake. From here, complete the loop by following the Old Bridal Path back to the Lafayette Place East parking lot.
