Description
The Utinga State Park Camillo Vianna is a conservation unit created by the Government of the State of Pará through State Decree No. 1,552 on May 3, 1993. It is managed by the Instituto de Desenvolvimento Florestal e da Biodiversidade do Estado do Pará (Ideflor-bio) and covers an area of 1,393.088 hectares. Among the objectives for creating the Utinga State Park are providing a recreational space for the community; fostering scientific, cultural, educational, tourist, and recreational activities; and enhancing the municipalities of Belém and Ananindeua through tourism development. From its inception, the park's focus on public use and ecotourism activities has been well established. As a guardian of local biodiversity, the park boasts a vast forest area with various typologies such as upland forest, flooded igapó forest, secondary forest, and aquatic vegetation. This creates a balanced environment suitable for recreation and public visitation, while also supporting the needs of a diverse faunal community. Utinga Park offers infrastructure for a wide range of activities that visitors can enjoy, including dedicated trails for walking and cycling; rest and nature contemplation spots (Casa da Mata and Recanto da Volta); guided forest trails; zip-lining; tubing; canoeing; wildlife observation (birdwatching); environmental interpretation and awareness activities, among many other possibilities. Whether visiting in groups or individually, this space allows for extensive and appropriate enjoyment of the remaining natural areas of our city, strengthening connections with the native natural elements of our land and positively influencing the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of its visitors. Additional Information: The park is open daily from 6 AM to 5 PM, except on Tuesdays when it is closed for maintenance. Admission is free, but some services, such as parking fees, are charged.
