Located 36 km from Mateiros, TO, toward São Felix, Cachoeira do Formiga is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region, with crystal-clear water in a truly impressive turquoise blue! The water temperature ranges from 22°C to 26°C, a perfect contrast to the region's hot climate. It is named after the Formiga River and is on private property belonging to the quilombola community. For this reason, there is a fee to visit. The waterfall has a drop of almost two meters, with strong water pressure, attracting those who enjoy a natural hydromassage. It is surrounded by natural vegetation and has a deck that is ideal for diving in and observing nature. The best time to visit Cachoeira do Formiga is during the dry season, from May to September, when rivers and waterfalls are at their lowest levels, making access easier.
