In 2002, the Rodrigues Alves Forest achieved two significant milestones: it was officially recognized as a 'Botanical Garden' by the Brazilian Network of Botanical Gardens (RBJB) and also received the prestigious status of 'Zoological Garden' by the Brazilian Institute of Environment (Ibama).
The Rodrigues Alves Forest covers a total area of 15 hectares, where more than 80% is composed of green areas, while only 20% is dedicated to pathways for visitors. This site is a fragment of the Amazon rainforest preserved in the heart of the city and is home to over 10,000 trees and 435 animals of various species, living in captivity, freedom, or semi-freedom throughout the forest.
Come visit this unique space where nature and conservation meet in harmony, providing an unforgettable experience for all visitors!
